Happier Than Ever
I just published my first book ever on the 18-month anniversary of my near-death experience:
The e-book can also be bought at Amazon for $4.20. You can order it here (Kindle).
Here are the 14 chapters:
I dedicated the book to my first cousin, David Brochstein, who died of TBI in September 2022:
My family lost my cousin to TBI, and I dedicate this book to him. David Brochstein, the son of my father’s brother, died September 11th, 2022 at the age of 53. My wife and I fondly remember seeing him in NYC decades ago when he was finishing earning his college degree from NYU.
David believed in Eastern medicine and made his career in the Dallas area helping people with an acupuncture and herbal medicine practice. He needed a root canal, and returned home afterwards, tripping, falling, and hitting his head. He went to a hospital in Ft. Worth. He had suffered TBI and was sent to the ICU. David was sent home, as there were no rooms available after he left ICU.
David’s dental procedure ended with his death, as he passed away at home after returning from the ICU. Not only did he leave behind his wife of 15 years, but he left behind three young children.
While I am happier than ever and fared very well, I realize from David’s story and from others that TBI can be horrific. It is not the only thing that can ruin a life, as there are plenty of other ways. For those who suffer trauma and especially for their loved ones, who can provide support and help the patients face their situations, it is imperative to patiently make progress.
I am happy for David's widow, who has married again and has moved to Colorado with their kids.
